You can use the biosample workflow file to add new analysis workflow instructions to existing biosamples.
Create a CSV file as follows. See Biosample Workflow File Format for more information about the template file and field requirements.
Download or open a biosample workflow template.
For each biosample, enter the following required information.
Biosample Name—The unique identifier for the source DNA.
Default Project—The default project for storing analysis data.
Analysis Workflow—The name of the analysis workflow.
[Optional] Enter additional analysis workflow parameters.
Save the file.
From the biosamples master list, select the File drop-down arrow, point to Upload, and then select Biosample Workflow.
In the Upload a Biosample Workflow dialog, add your biosample workflow file.
All template columns must be present in the biosample workflow file, but the Default Project cannot be changed using a biosample workflow. If the biosample does not exist in the specified project, BaseSpace Sequence Hub creates a new biosample in the project. For information about changing the default project for a biosample, see Change Default Project.
BaseSpace Sequence Hub validates the file and identifies any errors.
If there are errors in the file, correct the file and upload it again.
If there are no errors, review the notifications and select Continue.
Use a biosample workflow file to add biosamples and configure automation workflows.
Add biosamples with optional library prep instructions, analysis workflows, and custom metadata.
Add custom metadata to new biosamples
Add or update library request instructions for new or existing biosamples
Schedule Analysis Workflows for new or existing biosamples
From the biosamples master list, select the File drop-down arrow, point to Upload, and then select Biosample Workflow.
In the Upload a Biosample Workflow dialog, add your biosample workflow file.
BaseSpace Sequence Hub validates the file and identifies any errors.
If there are errors in the manifest file, correct the errors and upload the file again.
If there are no errors, review the notifications and select Continue.
Use a biosample workflow file to upload biosamples in bulk and assign library prep instructions, analysis workflows, and metadata to the biosamples. See Biosample Workflow File Format for more information about the template file and field requirements.

You can add new prep requests or update yield requirements for biosamples that have already been added to your account.
To add new biosamples with prep requests, see Add Biosamples.
To request more sequencing data without changing the yield target, see Request a Lab Requeue.
Create a CSV file as follows:
Download or open a biosample workflow template.
For each biosample, enter the following required information.
Biosample Name—The unique identifier for the source DNA.
Default Project—The default project for storing analysis data.
Prep Request—The name of the library prep kit to use for preparing the biosample. The name must exactly match an existing library prep kit.
Required Yield Gbp—The required yield for the prep request.
[Optional] Add instructions for analysis workflows.
Save the file.
From the biosamples master list, select the File drop-down arrow, point to Upload, and then select Biosample Workflow.

If an analysis workflow requires input from multiple biosamples, you can add the biosamples to an analysis group in the biosample workflow file.
Enter the name of the analysis workflow in parentheses. Only add the analysis workflow to one of the biosample entries.
For each biosample in the group, enter the group name in the Analysis Group field.
For each biosample in the group, enter a unique label in the Sample Label field.
In the following example, the TumorNormal analysis workflow will be launched using the two biosamples listed in analysis group analysis1234.
A biosample can only be listed in a single row in the workflow file. To schedule multiple Analysis Workflows for a single biosample, separate the Analysis Workflow names with a pipe "|" character.
In the following example, both Isaac and Tumor Normal Analysis Workflows are scheduled for the biosample.
