# Overview

The below data flow diagram demonstrates processing workflow involving sequencing data from an Illumina instrument, which is mounted on the NAS (Network-Attached Storage). The DRAGEN software installed on the DRAGEN server v4, accesses the sequencing data from the NAS for secondary analysis. Upon completion of the secondary analysis, Connected Insights - Local reads the analysis output (.vcfs, .FASTQs), processes and annotates it for variant interpretation and writes back the results to the mounted storage.\

Before installing the Connected Insights - Local software, review and complete the prerequisites. For instructions, refer to [Prerequisites](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/configure/local-installation-guide/ici-prerequisites).

Once the prerequisites are met, complete the installation of Connected Insights - Local software in the sequence below:

1. Download the Connected Insights - Local software packages. For instructions refer to [Download Connected Insights - Local software Package](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/configure/local-installation-guide/ici-downloaderutility)
2. Install the Illumina Administration Console software. For instructions, refer to [Install Illumina Local installer software](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/configure/local-installation-guide/ici-installconnectedinsightssoftware)
3. Setup first administrator user and Sign in to Illumina Local installer software. For instructions, refer to [Sign In to Connected Insights - Local software](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/configure/local-installation-guide/ici-signintoconnectedinsights)
4. Configure external storage. For instructions, refer to [Configure External Storage](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/configure/local-installation-guide/admin-overview/configure-storage)
5. Install the Connected Insights - Local software. For instructions, refer to [Install Connected Insights - Local Software](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/configure/local-installation-guide/ici-installconnectedinsightssoftware)
6. Install the Connected Insights - Local software setup license file and upload the Genome Equivalence sample balance file. For instructions, refer to [Install License Files](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/configure/local-installation-guide/ici-installlicensefile).
7. Install Annotations, Genome Data Reference and Knowledge Bases packages from Software updates page. For instructions, refer to [Software Updates](https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/overview/whats-new/software-update) section Install or Update software and dependent package.
