# Clinical Trials

The Clinical Trials provides a list of all the clinical trials that have a match for the variant.

By default, the assertions are filtered by the case and ancestor diseases. You can also filter by diseases, title, city, state, and country. Filter changes are saved and applied across variants within a case and can be reset if needed.

Classification is reported as Tier 2C (or equivalent, using your [Actionability Classifications](/connected-insights/configure/configuration/c-custom-actionability-classification.md)).

## Available Clinical Trials Knowledge Bases

Connected Insights provides the Genomenon Cancer Knowledge Base (formerly Jackson Laboratory Clinical Knowledge Base), which includes curated clinical trials from clinicaltrials.gov. For more information, refer to the [Genomenon CKB website](https://ckbhome.genomenon.com/). See [this page](https://ckbhome.genomenon.com/about/glossaryOfTerms) for assertion descriptions.

Clinical trials with a recruitment status of completed, withdrawn, or active, not recruiting are not supported.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.connected.illumina.com/connected-insights/interpret-and-report/viewdetails-introduction/viewdetails-clinical-trials.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
