Illumina BioInsight Platform Core (Cloud)

Due to the size and complexity of the sequenced data, running DRAGEN StrataMap on Core is the optimal experience. Analysis is parallelized on multiple high performance nodes, facilitating optimal turn around time, even for large experiments. In addition, it enables auto-launch of analysis as sequencing completes, and immediate usage of analysis results in ICM.

Step 1: Sign up for an Illumina BioInsight Platform account

Sign up for an Illumina Bioinsight Platform Core account with the instructions here:

This account will provide access to:

  • BaseSpace Sequence Hub (BSSH)

  • Illumina Bioinsight Platform Core (Core) - previously called ICA

  • Illumina Connected Multiomics (ICM)

Step 2: Set Up BaseSpace Sequence Hub (BSSH) Managed Project

2.1 Navigate to workgroup in BSSH

  1. Go to https://basespace.illumina.com.

  2. Sign in using the same Platform Core credentials.

  3. Accept the user agreement.

  4. Navigate to your newly created workgroup using the dropdown menu.

2.2 Enable Core Run Storage

  1. While in your spatial workgroup, navigate to Settings.

  2. Ensure Core Run Storage is toggled ON.

This enables auto-launching of secondary analysis upon completion of sequencing runs.

2.3 Create a Project

Create a project in BSSH to receive image files from the Illumina Spatial Image Tool (ISIT) and for downstream analysis.

  1. While in your spatial workgroup, navigate to Projects in the top menu bar.

  2. Select File > New.

  3. Enter a project name and select Save.

This project will appear in the ISIT user interface when exporting registered OME-TIFF images to the cloud.

Link the DRAGEN StrataMap software bundle to your BSSH managed project in Core.

  • Navigate to Core https://ica.illumina.com/ica/.

  • From the main navigation, select Projects > your_project > Project Settings > Details.

  • Click the Edit button at the top of the Details page.

  • Under Linked bundles, click the + button.

  • Search for DRAGEN StrataMap Bundle.

  • Click Link.

  • Click Save on the top right of the page.
