Assign / Clear tags

Using bulk tagging, you can assign or manage tags across multiple variants at once. This helps maintain consistency and reduces repetitive manual work.

Select the variants of interest

Click the Tag icon in the Multi-select actions bar

Choose a tag from the dropdown menu

Tag assignment behavior

• If a tag is already assigned to at least one selected variant, a confirmation window appears. It shows the current tag and the new tag for each variant.

• When multiple tags per variant are enabled, tags are always added in addition to existing tags. No confirmation window will appear in this case.

• All tags assigned to a variant are displayed in the Tag column. If both user tags and AI tags exist, only user tags appear in the column.

Choose one of the following:

• ^{Clear – removes user-assigned tags.}

• ^{Not relevant – removes tags assigned by Emedgene}

Tips:

• Use bulk tagging to ensure consistency across variants that share biological or interpretive context.

• If you work in teams, use consistent tagging practices to reduce mismatches.

Warnings:

• Clearing tags affects all team members working on the case — coordinate with your team to avoid conflicts.

• Bulk edits apply immediately to all selected variants.
