Export selected variants to Curate
By using the Export to Curate bulk action, you can add or update multiple variants in Curate directly from Analyze.
This allows you to export all selected variants at once instead of handling them individually.
Exporting variants to Curate
Select variants using multi-select mode
In the Multi-select actions bar, click Export to Curate
Summary table before export
After pathogenicity is validated, a summary table shows what happens to each selected variant during export. You can choose to continue. Curate then opens in a new browser tab.
“Variant batch upload” notification appears, confirming the operation has started
The downloadable report includes: Status = Update for modified variants
Processing in Curate runs independently - you can continue working in Analyze.
Note: Updates may result in:
Partial success
Skipped updates (based on existing rules)
Tips:
Review the summary table carefully—this is the best place to identify variants that will be updated instead of newly created.
Assign pathogenicity before export to avoid validation errors.
Use consistent tagging and classification rules across your team to reduce mismatches during update checks.
Warnings:
All variants selected for export must have a pathogenicity assigned. If any variant is missing a classification, an error message appears and the export cannot proceed.
Export requires all selected variants to have pathogenicity—any missing classification blocks the action.
The export may update existing variants—review carefully to avoid unintended overwrites.
Bulk export actions are disabled in finalized cases.
Updates follow standard Curate rules and may result in partial success.
