# Phenomatch filters

The Phenomatch filters identify **variants in genes whose disease phenotypes best match the proband’s clinical presentation**, using [proprietary phenotypic match models](https://help.connected.illumina.com/emedgene/emedgene-analyze-manual/reviewing_a_case/phenotypic-match/phenotypic-match-models) to rank genes by relevance.

{% endcolumn %}

{% column width="58.33333333333333%" %}
There is a corresponding filter for each phenotypic match model:

* **Phenomeld:** Most advanced model; provides the most accurate gene prioritization.
* **Phenomatch – Powered by AI:** Finds genes with **loose** phenotype similarity to the patient’s HPO terms.
* **Phenomatch – High specificity:** Finds genes with **exact** phenotype match to the patient’s HPO terms.
* **Phenomatch with unknown:** Finds genes of **unknown significance** through indirect associations (pathways, mouse models, gene families).
  {% endcolumn %}
  {% endcolumns %}

## Default values

When filters are reset to default, the Phenomatch filters are not applied.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.connected.illumina.com/emedgene/emedgene-analyze-manual/reviewing_a_case/analysis-tools-tab/analysis_tools_tab/filters_presets_panel/filters/phenomatch_filters.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
