Analyze Network

Public vs Private network

The Public network is accessible and viewable by all organizations within the region. This openness encourages collaboration among different entities within the specified area. Marked by a globe icon in > Network > Network table.

On the other hand, we understand that certain operations require a more exclusive approach. That's where the Private network comes into play. This network is visible for invited organizations only, ensuring a heightened level of privacy and security.<br/<>Marked by globe lock icon in > Network > Network table.

Your organization can be a member of different Public and Private networks at the same time.

Case subject consent for extended sharing

The user can opt in or out of Extended data sharing during case creation based on the patient's consent. This is a mandatory field that cannot be edited later via edit case flow.

A case with Extended data sharing consent will share both Restricted fields and Extended fields in the Related Cases tab of the Variant page, whereas a case without consent will only share Restricted fields. Whether a field is Restricted or Extended is defined by the network setup.

Notes:

  • In the UI, default case subject consent for Extended data sharing is set to “Yes”, except for cases that ran on platform versions 31 and earlier.

  • When using API to create cases, the sharing_level field is used to indicate whether the case subject consented to Extended data sharing. Valid inputs include: restricted and extended. If not specified, the default value is restricted.

Analyze Network Setup

When organizations embrace openness and accessibility, they can pool their expertise to enhance interpretation of genomic data. This collaboration can lead to more accurate and comprehensive interpretations of genomic information, potentially resulting in advancements in medical research, diagnostics, and personalized healthcare.

Versions up to v38.0: Networks permit data sharing only within a single cloud region.

Starting from v100.39.0: Users can collaborate across cloud environments and geographic regions, broadening the scope of potential collaborations.

  • The same secure, opt-in data sharing module is enabled across any Emedgene cloud.

  • All existing data sharing network components support cross-region sharing.

Limitations: If networks share the same workgroup/organization name across cloud regions, they can't be distinguished in the UI.

Recommendation: Use unique network names across collaborators.

Emedgene aims to simplify the process of sharing cases among healthcare organizations, while ensuring that patient privacy and consent are respected.

The Network allows users to review tagged variants from other organizations within their network(s). The on the displays shared case data that is relevant to the variant being reviewed.

Level of sharing of a particular case with a particular network of collaborators is defined by:

  1. , and

  2. .

One organization may participate in multiple networks under different terms.

Networks are being managed by the network admin in > Network.

Here the dedicated network manager can:

  1. networks and for each network;

    Network sharing configuration

We offer four sharing modes that are set for each type of data per network:

    Mandatory

    always shared by default

    Not shared

    never exposed to the network

    Restricted

shared in cases with or without patient’s to Extended sharing

    Extended

shared only in cases with patient’s to Extended sharing

Network configuration is done by the network manager in Settings > Network. One organization may participate in multiple networks under different terms.
